The drama of Shadowmarch is as much about political intrique and courtley machinations as it is about magic and swordplay.

It's Hill Street Blues meets Babylon 5 meets Lord of the Rings.

The important point is that the on-going action of the series is contained within a "precinct" (the Shadowmarch Castle) which-like all successful sci-fi series to date will save on costly locations and filming or animation.

Shadowmarch is event television. In terms of editorial ambitions, the on-screen production values and publicity potential, it is television that will make impact with the audience.
